Internet Child Safety Foundation (ICSF) conducted an awareness and training of trainers session in Rodrigues island from April 11-13, 2013.

The sessions focused on Internet Safety, mechanisms for reporting abuse using ICSF & Helpline Mauritius websites. Online counselling services available using phone, chat and email as medium.

The sessions were attended by community leaders, students and representatives of parent-teacher associations attended. The Training session was hand on demonstration, whereas the awareness acitivy was power point based. Each activity provided the participants time for questions and answers with the trainers, group role plays and video show.

Awareness Campaign

ICSF wants to invovled the community and professional as they have a crucial to play in helpling to keep children and young people safer online.The sessions were supported by sensitisation materials which included posters, flyers, bookmarks and post cards containing safety tips and Helpline details.

The chief guests attending the official ceremony included Mrs Franchette Gaspard Pierrre Louis, Deputy Commissioner of Rodrigues Island.
